Brandon Drury Not Certain To Be Traded
2 years agoCincinnati Reds infielder Brandon Drury, who is drawing interest from multiple teams at the trade deadline, isn't certain to be traded this summer. The Reds might be interested in exploring an extension with Drury, who turns 30 on Aug. 21 and hit his career-high 20th home run as a pinch-hitter on Sunday. The Reds could also trade him and re-sign him as a free agent in the offseason, too. But if they deal him, they would lose their right to negotiate with him exclusively until the market opens. The 29-year-old is having a late-career resurgence in Cincinnati in 2022, hitting .275/.336/.523 with an .859 OPS, 20 round-trippers, 59 RBI, 62 runs scored and two stolen bases in 381 plate appearances over 91 games.
