Brandon Lowe Absent From Thursday’s Lineup
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe is out of the mix for Thursday’s contest against the Orioles with Joey Wendle holding down the keystone in his stead. It appears to be just a day off for Lowe, who has gotten off to a torrid start in 2020, entering play Thursday leading the Majors with a 192 OPS+. Even as Baltimore tosses southpaw John Means, Lowe’s absence is not due to splits since he has clobbered lefties to the tune of a 1.251 OPS this year. He should unequivocally be rostered in every season-long format with his next chance to rejoin the starting nine coming Friday against the Marlins, who have not yet announced a starter.
