Brandon Lowe Still Weeks Away
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe (back) has been given permission to start doing some rotational exercises and he hopes to hit off a tee for the first time this Friday. However, skipper Kevin Cash said "it's going to take a couple weeks" for Lowe to move through stages of hitting, running and fielding drills, and he'll likely need to go on a rehab assignment after that. Lowe is recovering from a stress reaction in his lower back and will be out for at least another few weeks. Isaac Paredes and Vidal Brujan have been splitting time at the keystone with Lowe sidelined. Before Lowe's injury, he was hitting .212/.293/.415 with five home runs, 12 RBI, 20 runs scored and one stolen base in 133 plate appearances over 32 games played.
