7 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (finger) was in obvious pain after being hit by a pitch on his left index finger during a groundout on Thursday and is going for X-rays. There is no word yet on the results. It's a shame, since Nimmo snapped a streak of reaching base in 10 straight plate appearances. Nimmo went 5-for-5 on Wednesday night and was everywhere. He has hit .333 (16-for-48) with two home runs, eight RBI and one steal in 14 games this month entering Thursday and has been the team's most consistent hitter for most of the year.
