6 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo was removed from Tuesday's game against the Marlins after being hit in the hand by a pitch. He was replaced in left field by Keon Broxton. Nimmo was 2-for-21 entering Tuesday's game, but he is one of the young stars on this Mets team, so losing him would present a big hole to fill in the Big Apple. If the injury is serious enough that Nimmo has to miss significant time, the Mets will likely either look to Broxton or utility man Jeff McNeil to fill the void in the outfield. Broxton has just three plate appearances this year and is a career .223 hitter with 52 stolen bases, while McNeil has gotten off to a solid start in 2019, splitting time between third base and left field while going 6-for-17 with two doubles, a triple and three runs batted in.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
