Brandon Nimmo Reaching Base At Furious Pace
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo continued to showcase his on-base skillset on Tuesday in the Mets' doubleheader sweep of the Phillies. Nimmo went a combined 3-for-6, with two walks, one run scored, and three RBI in the twin-bill. He is now boasting a ridiculous .435/.581/.565 slash line on the season over 32 plate appearances and leads the MLB in on-base percentage. In addition, with this start to the 2021 season, Nimmo now owns a .401 OBP since 2018 which is the fifth-highest mark for all qualified hitters (minimum 1000 PA). He also became the first Mets player to reach base multiple times in the team's first seven games of the season after going 3-for-4 in Tuesday's nightcap. Nimmo will serve as a place setter hitting leadoff for the Mets throughout the 2021 season. As a result, he will have a tremendous opportunity to put up huge run totals in a loaded lineup, given this elite on-base skillset. While he remains on this tear, Nimmo should be active in all fantasy formats, particularly in OBP leagues.
