Brandon Nimmo Returns From Injured List Friday
3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (finger) was activated from the 10-day injured list by the Mets on Friday. Nimmo is batting leadoff and starting in centerfield for the Mets in their crosstown matchup against the Yankees. Nimmo has not played since early May due to a left index finger injury. In 21 games this season, Nimmo has posted a .318/.430/.439 slash line with a home run and eight RBI. Provided he can remain healthy going forward, Nimmo should continue to perform as a top-tier place setter with a solid batting average and an elite on-base percentage. Outfielder Kevin Pillar should now see a reduction in playing time going forward with Nimmo's return, though he is starting in left field on Friday with Dominic Smith moving to first base and Pete Alonso in at designated hitter.
