3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-5 in the Mets 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. With the Mets offense continuing to struggle, Nimmo and Pete Alonso stand out right now as the only two batters in the lineup swinging a hot bat. Nimmo is now batting .429/.500/.571 in 28 at-bats over his last seven games. Though Nimmo was struggling at the beginning of August, he has clearly put that rough stretch behind him. Nimmo has managed to raise his average to .294 on the season, to go with a .413 on-base percentage, four home runs, 20 RBI, and 37 runs scored in 69 games. While Nimmo will not post huge HR and RBI totals, he remains an elite option for batting average and OBP in all fantasy formats. If and when the Mets decide to start scoring runs, Nimmo should also contribute to run totals for fantasy managers hitting atop the Mets lineup with his elite on-base skill set.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
