Brandon Tanev Drivers Offense For Kraken

3 years agoFormer Pittsburgh Penguins forward Brandon Tanev scored his third goal of the season for the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night during the club's 2-1 overtime loss. Expected to serve as more of a physical role, the high-energy player has sparked the offense early on this season after scoring just seven goals last season. He scored a career-high 14 goals during the 2018-19 season but has never surpassed the 29-point mark in his six-year career. Tanev has been a fun story so far for the expansion club but he's seeing third-line minutes and isn't penciled in on either of the club's power-play units so his value will likely be limited moving forward — although he's a must-have in leagues that reward hits. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
