Brandon Woodruff Has Turned Into An Ace
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff has improved in three straight seasons. Woodruff allowed two runs or fewer in 22 of his 30 starts in 2021 to finish fifth in the National League Cy Young voting. From April 7 to June 11, Woodruff went 5-2 with a remarkable 1.25 ERA, .138 opponent's batting average and 92 strikeouts over 79 innings pitched. The right-hander has plenty of ways to get hitters out, and he pitched into the seventh inning in one-third of his starts. Home runs were somewhat of a problem, but if the Brewers can get him more wins in 2022, he'll definitely be worth his price as a No. 1 fantasy starter. Over his last 374 2/3 innings, Woodruff has a 3.00 ERA and 445 K's.
