Brandon Woodruff Takes Loss In Opener
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out five over five innings in a loss to the Cubs on Opening Day. This was a solid performance, though Woodruff did only induce seven swinging strikes on 85 pitches. His offense also provided him no support. He was hitting 99 MPH throughout the contest, and looked dominant at times. The 27-year-old right-hander should be seen as a serviceable No. 2 fantasy starter going forward. His next start comes Wednesday in Pittsburgh, a prime spot for a potential win.
