Brandon Woodruff To Make A Rehab Start Saturday
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff (ankle) will make a minor league rehab start on Saturday, according to skipper Craig Counsell. Woodruff threw a 40-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday and will take the next step as he tries to return from a sprained ankle and complications from Raynaud's syndrome, which has caused numbness in his hands. It's likely that the right-hander will need multiple rehab starts, as he's been on the injured list since May 30, but he's making progress. Whenever the 29-year-old makes his return to the rotation, fantasy managers should probably take a wait-and-see approach. Woodruff had a disappointing 4.74 ERA and 1.24 WHIP while striking out 53 and walking 13 in 43 2/3 innings over nine starts before his injury, but he should remain stashed in most leagues.
