Braves Add Prospect Michael Harris
3 years agoThe Atlanta Braves selected the contract of outfielder Michael Harris from the minor leagues on Saturday after optioning outfielder Travis Demeritte to Triple-A Gwinnett. Harris, the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, got off to a great start at Double-A Mississippi this year and was hitting .305/.372/.506 with an .878 OPS, five home runs, 16 doubles, 33 RBI, 33 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 196 plate appearances over 43 games before his call-up. The 21-year-old has never played above Double-A, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect too much initially. But Harris will have a chance to play regularly in his first taste of major league action. The left-handed hitter makes a lot of hard contact, but he has a tendency to go outside the strike zone at times.
