4 years agoMiami Marlins rookie pitcher Braxton Garrett will get the start for Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Garrett was called up on Tuesday as "protection" after a bullpen game on Monday, but the thought was always that he was going to start on Wednesday. He's had trouble pitching at the big league level in a small sample size (just 10 2/3 innings pitched), but he's been mostly solid throughout his minor league career since being the seventh overall pick of the 2016 draft. Garrett profiles as a decent mid-rotation starter, but he's likely not quite there yet. He could be worth a stream just because he gets to face the Rockies at loanDepot park, but it's a risky option since he may be on a low pitch count and serve as an extended opener.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
