Brayan Bello Goes Four-Plus Innings In Rehab Start
2 years agoBoston Red Sox rookie right-hander Brayan Bello (groin) allowed an earned run on four hits while walking two and striking out five in 4 1/3 innings in his minor league rehab start for Triple-A Worcester on Friday. Bello threw 50 of his 80 pitches for strikes in his second rehab appearance. There's a good chance that the 23-year-old Dominican hurler will get another shot in Boston's rotation before season's end. In his first five major league appearances (three starts), Bello is 0-3 with a rough 8.47 ERA (3.65 FIP), a 2.29 WHIP and an 15:11 K:BB in 17 innings pitched. In his first rehab start for Double-A Portland on Sunday, he allowed a run on two hits while walking none and striking out six in 3 2/3 frames.
