6 years agoTampa Bay Rays left-handed pitching prospect Brendan McKay will be pulled up to Triple-A Durham to start on Tuesday. The 2017 MLB first round draft pick has thrown 41 2/3 innings at Double-A with a stellar 1.30 ERA, 39.7 percent strikeout rate, and 5.8% walk rate. He has moved quickly through the Rays system and could be a candidate to be called up to the Majors at some point this year. With Tyler Glasnow (forearm) on the shelf and only two true starters, the Rays could use the help. Pitching prospect Brent Honeywell (elbow) also has not been able to begin throwing yet. MLB.com ranks Honeywell the second and McKay the third top prospects in their system behind shortstop Wander Franco. Keep an eye on this as the Rays are known for developing excellent starting pitching.--Zach Alexander
