2 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers (mouth) is back at second base and is hitting second on Friday against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Luis Cessa. Rodgers didn't play on Thursday after undergoing a root canal earlier in the day, but he'll return to the lineup on Friday. The 26-year-old finished up the month of August hitting .271 (29-for-107) with two home runs, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored in 27 games played. Overall, Rodgers is hitting .276/.327/.420 with 11 long balls, 60 RBI and 62 runs scored in 510 plate appearances over 118 games.
