3 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. Rodgers was hitless until the top of the eighth inning when he took reliever Jose Quintana deep for a solo home run that narrowed the Angels' lead to 4-2. It was his only hit of the ball game and his sixth long ball of the season. The 24-year-old former top-prospect is now slashing .263/.328/.438 with six home runs and 21 RBI over 160 at-bats. Rodgers had looked lost in his limited major league action prior to this season so it's nice to see him contribute in a meaningful way this year. He hasn't been setting the world on fire but the ceiling is still high for the 24-year-old.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
