4 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Brendan Rodgers went a combined 0-for-6 in Saturday's doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rodgers started at shortstop in both games as Trevor Story was placed on the injured list with an elbow strain. He went 0-for-3 in both contests but the Rockies only notched six hits total as a team so it's hard to judge him. The former top-prospect is just 5-for-22 since being activated from the IL and is slashing a meager .227/.292/.227 over his first seven games of the year. He should continue to play almost every day with Story on the shelf but there's no denying that he's been underwhelming in his limited action at the big league level. He's still worth rostering for now but he shouldn't be relied upon as a starter until he starts to show signs of life at the plate.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
