Brendan Rodgers Hitting Well In Double-A
7 years agoColorado Rockies middle infield prospect Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI and a walk to up his batting average to .289 on Sunday for Double-A Hartford. Rodgers, 21, was the third overall pick in the 2015 draft currently the 12th ranked prospect according to MLB.com. Rodgers has begun playing second base this season instead of shortstop and it could allow him to reach the big leagues quicker as the Rockies seem happy with Trevor Story and current second baseman DJ LeMahieu is scheduled for free agency following this season. Rodgers offers both contact and power tools to hit for a strong average and will have Coors Field on his side when he does get the promotion to the big leagues. Rodgers should already be owned in dynasty leagues, but likely won’t offer much value in redraft leagues this year unless DJ LeMahieu is dealt.
