3 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Brennen Davis (back) has been placed on the injured list with lower back discomfort. Davis has been sidelined since May 3 and has been off to a slow start this season. Iowa Cubs manager Marty Pevey said that there is currently to timetable for the talented outfielder to return. It's a shame, as Davis has a real opportunity to make his debut for the Cubs at some point in 2022, depending on his health. The 22-year-old has struggled early on with a .195 batting average to go along with two home runs and seven RBI in 77 at-bats. It's possible that Davis suffered the injury in spring training, and that could be a big reason for his early season struggles. When healthy, Davis is able to contribute offensively with power and also can chip in on the base paths. A universal top-20 prospect, Davis' injury may hurt his value in redraft leagues, but he should be rostered in all dynasty leagues.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
