4 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Brent Honeywell Jr. (elbow) has looked good in bullpen sessions and will move up to throwing live batting practice soon, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Topkin adds that it remains unclear at this point if Honeywell will pitch in live games this spring. Honeywell has not pitched in a game since spring training in 2018 following Tommy John surgery and then a fractured bone in his elbow suffered during his rehab. Before the injury, he looked like he was poised to be a top-of-the-rotation pitcher for Tampa Bay with high strikeout potential, but now it remains to be seen if he can work his way back to that pre-injury level.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
