Brent Suter Makes Subpar Start On Short Notice
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers LHP Brent Suter went five innings, giving up seven hits, four earned runs, and one walk while striking out two in the 4-0 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Chase Anderson was supposed to start tonight, however, was eventually scratched after dealing with illness and was placed on the 10-day disabled list, forcing Suter to start. Suter pitched 4 2/3 innings of relief on May 8 after Wade Miley only pitched one out before suffering his oblique injury. In his last two appearances, he has now given up four home runs and is clearly one of the issues with Suter right now. He now holds a 2-3 record with a 5.14 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 30 strikeouts in 42 innings pitched. Considering he holds a .273 batting average with a 1.021 OPS, he's better fit batting right now than pitching and doesn't hold any value even as a stream option.
