Brett Cecil Gets Roughed Up On Sunday
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Brett Cecil had a tough day against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Cecil came in to start the eighth inning, but he only managed to record one out. He gave up three earned runs on four hits. Cecil hasn't been as good this year, as he has a 5.70 ERA. His 8.82 K/9 from last year is down to 5.32 this year. It seems like the majority of his issues are just coming from missing his spots. He hasn't been able to strike out batters, but he has been walking them too. He has a 6.85 BB/9. That means he's getting behind in counts and missing spots, which helps the hitters be patient and wait for something they can put in play. Cecil should figure out his command, but he's not a fantasy asset until he does.
