2 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Brett Martin picked up his third save of the season in Monday's 10-8 win over the Athletics. Martin entered to pitch the ninth inning up by two. He got the first two hitters out on a strikeout and a flyout, allowed a single and a walk, and then ended the game with another strikeout. Martin has earned all of his saves in his last three appearances and looks to be the go-to for the Rangers now that Joe Barlow has been demoted from the closer's role. Martin has a 2.89 ERA, a 7.71 K/9 rate, and a 3.21 BB/9 rate over 28 innings pitched. He is worth a roster spot in roto leagues at this time.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
