Brewers Make Trade Offer For Christian Yelich
7 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers have shown "strong interest" in Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich and have made a trade offer, according to a source. The Brewers are one of at least 15 teams to be interested in Yelich, and talks between Milwaukee and Miami aren't believed to have gotten very far Tuesday. Yelich is one of the better young hitters in the game, slashing .290/.369/.432 in four-plus seasons, and he's already won a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger. His reasonable contract of $44.5 million over the next four years means many clubs are interested. Outfielder Lewis Brinson, Milwaukee's top prospect, is a native of South Florida and presumably would be involved in a potential trade. The Brewers could also be interested in Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto and second baseman Starlin Castro, who are also both interested in being traded. A trade to Milwaukee would probably increase Yelich's fantasy value a little bit.
