2 years agoThe Miami Marlins activated third baseman Brian Anderson (back) from the injured list on Monday and optioned Luke Williams to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Anderson is immediately back in the starting lineup on Monday against St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Adam Wainwright, starting at third base and hitting seventh in the batting order. The 29-year-old was out just under a month and went 1-for-10 with five strikeouts in five minor league rehab games. He was slashing .267/.374/.410 with two home runs, six RBI, 21 runs scored and one stolen base before his injury. Anderson should split playing time at the hot corner with Jon Berti, who has played very well this year, and he could lose even more playing time when Joey Wendle returns from his injury.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
