Brian Flores Reiterates Tua Tagovailoa Is Starter When Healthy
4 years agoThe Miami Dolphins turned to veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to help them beat the Jets on Sunday due to the thumb injury sustained by Tua Tagovailoa (thumb) earlier in the week. After Fitzpatrick was removed from the starting gig earlier this year, and in light of his strong performance Sunday, head coach Brian Flores was asked whether he had reconsidered who would be the team's starting signal caller down the stretch; his answer was that when healthy, Tagovailoa undisputedly would be under center. There is a chance that Tagovailoa is able to be cleared in time ahead of a Week 13 matchup against Cincinnati, although how effective he is remains to be seen. Fitzpatrick and Tagovailoa represent DFS contrarian plays rather than season-long assets, although fantasy managers will want to check back throughout the week to see how the practice reps are divided.
