6 years agoNew England Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer has been released by the team. The veteran quarterback has been with the team the past two seasons as backup for Tom Brady. But rookie signal-caller Jarrett Stidham has looked impressive in the preseason and apparently has done enough to earn the backup job. Hoyer has never thrown a regular season touchdown in a Patriots uniform but should have plenty of suitors over the next week. Teams like the Packers (who just released their backup) or Colts could certainly use the services of a solid, yet unspectacular, player like Hoyer.--Joey C - RotoBaller
