6 years agoHouston Astros catcher Brian McCann has been placed on the disabled list with knee soreness. This cannot be too much of a surprise for the aging veteran, who also had a couple of stints on the shelf last year with knee issues. This may just be a precautionary maintenance move for the time being while McCann is slumping and Max Stassi has been producing behind the plate. McCann hit only .196 in the month of May, and the team may be hoping the time off will refresh his body. Catcher Tim Federowicz will be called up to take his roster spot, and expect Stassi to see the bulk of the playing time in McCann's absence.--Joey C - RotoBaller
