Broncos Restructure Courtland Sutton's Contract
3 years agoThe Denver Broncos converted $10.5 million of wide receiver Courtland Sutton's contract into a signing bonus, creating $7.875 million in salary cap space for the 2022 season. The Broncos have cleared nearly $12.5 million salary cap space for this year over the last two days. They also restructured fellow wideout Tim Patrick's deal on Saturday. Sutton and the Broncos agreed to a four-year, $60.8 million contract extension last November. The 26-year-old stayed healthy in 2021, but became an afterthought in the offense when Jerry Jeudy returned around midseason from an ankle sprain. In 17 games, Sutton had 58 receptions for 776 yards and only two touchdowns. But with quarterback Russell Wilson now in town, fantasy managers will be expecting a bounce-back season from Sutton in 2022.
