Browns Expecting Big Things From David Njoku
2 years agoThe Cleveland Browns are waiting for tight end David Njoku to break out. The Browns think the sixth-year tight end can take a major step forward in playing time and production in 2022 with an eventual quarterback change to Deshaun Watson and a total remake of the passing game this offseason. Njoku has been a part-time player in four of his five seasons, and he logged only 64% of the offensive snaps in 2021. Cleveland thinks Watson's mobility and arm talent will unlock Njoku's best traits. The team signed the former first-rounder to a long-term deal with $28 million in guarantees in March, showing that they truly believe in him. Njoku is strong and athletic enough to become a matchup problem all over the field, but with a lengthy suspension hanging over Watson, the tight end is best viewed as a TE2 with upside in fantasy this year.
