3 years agoCleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said he hopes the situation with quarterback Baker Mayfield "is resolved soon." Stefanski said on Monday that the team still has every plan to part ways with him after trading for Deshaun Watson 10 days ago. Mayfield is guaranteed his full base salary of $18.858 million in 2022, which has complicated the team's trade efforts. The 26-year-old had a rough 2021 season, his fourth as the starter for the Browns, and played most of the year with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He had surgery on the shoulder and should be ready for 2022, but it remains to be seen if he'll be starting for another organization.
