Browns Prepared To Pay Up For David Njoku
3 years agoThe Cleveland Browns definitely want impending free-agent tight end David Njoku back, and they are prepared to pay him the big bucks that he'd get on the open market. Cleveland has been talking to Njoku's agents for months, and they are poised to try to get a deal done before or during the legal tampering period from March 14 to 16. Njoku has said that he wants to finish his career in Cleveland. Pro Football Focus estimates his market value at three years and $11 million per year. With a price tag like that, it could make Njoku the No. 1 tight end over Austin Hooper moving forward if he stays in Cleveland. Like most of the Browns pass-catchers in 2021, Njoku suffered from quarterback Baker Mayfield's injury riddled season, catching 36 passes for 475 yards and four touchdowns on 53 targets in 16 games.
