Browns Restructure Amari Cooper's Contract
3 years agoThe Cleveland Browns restructured wide receiver Amari Cooper's contract, converting most of his $20 million base salary into a signing bonus, adding two void years and saving over $15 million on the 2022 salary cap. Cooper lost a lot of fantasy intrigue with the initial move from Dallas to Cleveland, but that has all changed now that the Browns have quarterback Deshaun Watson under center instead of Baker Mayfield. The 27-year-old pass-catcher is a four-time Pro Bowler and has posted 1,000-yard seasons in four of his seven NFL seasons. Cooper had 865 receiving yards and a career-high-tying eight touchdowns on 104 targets last year and will be a strong WR2 in his first year with the Browns.
