6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds extended his hitting streak to nine games Wednesday afternoon in Texas. The rookie only had one hit in four at-bats but made it count, plating three runs with a double in the fourth inning. Reynolds has now hit safely in every game he's played in and is scorching-hot to start his major league career. Reynolds is batting .414 and slugging .731 through 29 big league at-bats. Last season in Double-A and early this season in Triple-A, Reynolds had a double-digit walk rate while striking out less than 20 percent of the time.
