Rookie Bryan Reynolds Extends Hit Streak To Nine Games
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds extended his hitting streak to nine games Wednesday afternoon in Texas. The rookie only had one hit in four at-bats but made it count, plating three runs with a double in the fourth inning. Reynolds has now hit safely in every game he's played in and is scorching-hot to start his major league career. Reynolds is batting .414 and slugging .731 through 29 big league at-bats. Last season in Double-A and early this season in Triple-A, Reynolds had a double-digit walk rate while striking out less than 20 percent of the time. That kind of plate discipline could keep Reynolds useful in fantasy, even as his insane ratios come back down to Earth, making him an intriguing name to watch in deeper leagues.
