6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds hit his first career home run, a go-ahead solo shot, in the top of the 11th inning of a 6-4 win over Texas on Tuesday night. Also stroking a double in the fifth, the 24-year-old rookie is now riding an eight-game hitting streak to begin his career. Despite having just 11 big league hits to his name, Tuesday marked his first run scored and run batted in. He's hitting .423/.423/.731 with a .526 BABIP, meaning he’ll be due for some regression fairly soon. However, Reynolds is currently one of the best hitters in the Pirates lineup and should continue seeing regular playing time in left field until Corey Dickerson (shoulder) returns from the injured list.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
