Bryce Elder To Start Sunday, Huascar Ynoa Pushed Back To Tuesday
3 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Bryce Elder will start on Sunday Night Baseball versus the Padres with Huascar Ynoa being pushed back to Tuesday, according to David O'Brien. Elder will pitch on normal rest after he tossed 5 2/3 innings of three-run ball on Tuesday against the Nationals. Elder, who was at minor league camp in March, is more stretched out than most pitchers who were affected by shortened Spring Training and the Braves want to give Ynoa extra rest with an off day on Monday. Elder was fifth-round pick in the 2020 draft and ascended quickly as he pitched in High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A in 2021 and averaged more than a strikeout-per-inning at every stop. He's a name to add in keeper leagues and could have some streamer appeal for fantasy managers looking for another Sunday starter.
