3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies manager Joe Girardi said that the team had another test done on outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) last week that showed a small tear in his UCL. Dr. ElAttrache confirmed the small tear on Thursday morning. Harper will be shut down from throwing for four weeks, with the hope that he'll resume a throwing program after that. The 29-year-old has been the exclusive designated hitter since April 17 because of the injury, and that will through at least the middle of June. Harper will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection this weekend, and he will sit out of the lineup on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fantasy managers have to be thankful for the universal DH this year. Otherwise, Harper would be on the 60-day injured list, most likely.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
