Harper had been having a quiet spring, he had just five at-bats before Wednesday, but announced his presence in a big way. Harper quietly put up an impressive .897 OPS last season and backed it up with elite supporting metrics. He was in the top-10 percent of the league in barrel rate, expected slugging percentage, and expected wOBA on contact so he should be one of the top hitters in the league again this season.
