Bryce Harper Launches Two Homers Wednesday
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder went 3-for-3 with two home runs in a rout of the Cubs Wednesday night. Harper got the scoring started with a two-run shot in the first before hitting another homer in the sixth to plate the Phillies 11th run of the night. He got off to a slow start this season but he's been able to cut his strikeout rate to 26 percent after being well over 30 percent most of the first half and has been making good contact all year with a 46 percent hard-hit rate. As a result, Harper now has eight homers in 29 games since the All-Star break after hitting 16 in 90 games before and has raised his OPS to a solid .859. He'll look to stay hot tonight against Yu Darvish and the Cubs before a weekend series with the Brewers.
