Buccaneers Sign John Brown To Practice Squad
3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed veteran wide receiver John Brown to their practice squad on Thursday and released running back Darwin Thompson in a corresponding move. Brown played in four games with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Denver Broncos this year, but he only played 19 combined offensive snaps and failed to catch any of his three targets. The Buccaneers are in need of receiver depth heading into the playoffs now that Antonio Brown is no longer on the roster. Chris Godwin (knee) is done for the rest of the year and Cyril Grayson (hamstring) is doubtful to play this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Brown could be added to the team's active roster for wild-card weekend, but he's highly likely to have much of a role at all.
