Bud Black Signs Extension With The Rockies
3 years agoColorado Rockies manager Bud Black has signed an extension with the team through the 2023 season, according to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post. Black was signed through the 2022 season, so this is simply a one-year add-on to his current contract, giving him some breathing room. Black has a 349-359 record (.493) over five seasons as the Rockies manager and has finished as a finalist for the National League Manager of the Year award twice back in 2017 and 2018. The Rockies made the playoffs in those two seasons but have come nowhere close to the postseason over the last three years. Colorado's roster has some pieces, but the 2022 and 2023 seasons will be an uphill battle for the Rockies in the loaded NL West.
