Buster Posey Returns To Lineup, No Long-Term Hip Issues
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey (hip) rejoined the mix Sunday, returning to catching duties after missing nearly a week due to a tight right hip. Both Posey and manager Gabe Kapler declared the backstop healthy after the contest, stating that there was no long-term concern about his ability to serve as the team's primary catcher. Posey has just three hits in 14 spring at-bats, but he has drawn four walks as well. After not suiting up during the abbreviated 2020 campaign, Posey will be something of an unknown commodity in '21; the .688 OPS that he posted in 2019 over 114 games was the lowest of his career. For now, fantasy managers can operate under the assumption that Posey will be behind the dish April 1 and remain the team's primary catcher until notified otherwise.
