Byron Buxton Day-To-Day With A Mild Hip Strain
3 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (hip) is day-to-day with a "low-level right hip strain." After exiting Saturday's contest early with hip tightness, the 28-year-old was held out of Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics. His injury isn't related to any previous hip issues, and the Twins sound optimistic that he will return to the lineup Tuesday when Minnesota faces the Astros. Gilbert Celestino drew the start and would see an uptick in at-bats while Buxton is sidelined. Buxton's injury is reportedly mild, and fantasy managers should continue to roll with him when he returns early next week. The former first-round pick is slashing .271/.307/.575 with nine home runs, 17 RBI, 17 runs, and a stolen base over 79 plate appearances in 2022.
