Byron Buxton Lands On Injured List

5 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (wrist) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Buxton has been out of the lineup since being hit by a pitch on Friday against the Red Sox. The Twins had hoped it would not require an injured list stint, but when he was not ready to play on Tuesday the team proceeded to place him on the injured list and recall outfielder Jake Cave from Triple-A. Buxton has had a long-awaited breakout season in 2019, hitting .266 with nine home runs and 10 stolen bases so far on the campaign. The issue for Buxton has always been staying healthy, so fantasy owners should proceed with caution over any injury news. Cave has hit well since being sent to Triple-A Rochester in May but has never shown consistent success in his 109 big league games.--Walt Clark
