Byron Buxton On The Bench Against Orioles
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. The Twins continue to give the oft-injured outfielder regular time off and have used him as the designated hitter in two of his last three games in order to preserve him for the rest of the year. Buxton is hitting only .227 on the year in 225 at-bats, but he also has 21 home runs, 38 RBI and 45 runs scored in 61 games played as a must-start fantasy asset when he's on the field. Gilberto Celestino is starting in center field on Sunday and is batting ninth against Orioles right-hander Tyler Wells. Celestino is hitting a solid .288 in 146 plate appearances this year, but he's still searching for his first long ball of 2022.
