Byron Buxton Placed On Injured List Tuesday

2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (hip) will be placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hip strain on Tuesday. He did not travel with the team to Houston. With Buxton sidelined, Gilberto Celestino and Jake Cave should see more playing time in Minnesota's outfield. Nick Gordon is in center field and is batting fifth on Tuesday against Houston Astros right-hander Justin Verlander, while Cave is in left field and batting eighth. The injury-prone Buxton will head back to the injured list, but he remains worth stashing after hitting .224/.306/.526 with an .833 OPS, 28 long balls, 51 RBI, 61 runs scored and six stolen bases to this point in the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
