Byron Buxton Set to Begin Rehab Stint on Tuesday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is inching closer to a return from a fractured toe. The 24-year-old will begin a rehab stint with Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday. This campaign has been a massive disappointment so far for Buxton. He was tagged as a trendy breakout pick heading into the season, but the former top prospect has underwhelmed in every aspect. Buxton has a .156 average along with four RBI and five stolen bases on the year. He has yet to hit a home run through 28 games. To give Buxton the benefit of the doubt, he has been dealing with injuries for the majority of the season. Regardless, he has become an annoyance for many fantasy managers. Buxton will have to show some positives when he returns to the Twins lineup in order to keep him rostered in re-draft leagues.
