Byron Buxton Still Hasn't Done Much Hand Work
3 years agoByron Buxton (hand) has been doing lower-body activity but hasn't done much with his left hand yet, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "The gripping and the starting to do things baseball activity-wise with his hand has not really taken off yet, but we weren't expecting it to," manager Rocco Baldelli said. "It's still a little ways away." The former 2017 second overall pick has been on the shelf since June 22 with a fractured left hand and isn't expected back before the July 30 trade deadline, complicating the situation. The oft-injured outfielder has 10 homers, 19 RBI, five stolen bases, 21 runs scored and a .369/.409/.767 slash line through 27 games. Buxton is a polarizing player in both fantasy and in real life, but injuries have limited the former top prospect from realizing his All-Star and 30-30 potential.
